Non-competitive Recreational Team
Recreational team dancers will learn skills and a dance to perform on stage at the year end recital in May.
Full costume you keep is provided.
Classes are once a week.
Classes/ combos run from 30 – 60 min for these levels.
Dance with with Me
(under 4 years)
Dancers are accompanied by their parent/guardian for this 30-45 min class.
blending classical technique, creative movement and base acrobatics.
Curriculum strongly based on age appropriated child development.
Incorporating dance structure, technique and muscle/body awareness.
Little Toes (under 2.5 years)
Tiny dancers (2.5 - 4 years old)
A Jazz/Ballet/Acro combo class
blending classical technique, creative movement and base acrobatics.
Curriculum strongly based on age appropriated child development.
Incorporating dance structure, technique and muscle/body awareness.
Mini Rec combo (4- 6 yrs)
40 min class Ballet/ Jazz combo or Ballet/Tap combo.
*option to combo all three genres upon request.
KIDS Rec program (7-10yrs)
no combos for this age group
30-45 min classes depending on class size.
Hip Hop , Tap, Jazz , Ballet and Acrobatics
Teen Rec program (11 years +)
30-45 min classes depending on class size.
Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Acrobatics
Supportive Learning with Tap and Movement. (6years +)
All our classes are inclusive, but JDA recognizes some dancers are better set to succeed in specialized spaces.
This class is designed for dancers with disabilities.
It supports learning Aides attending with dancers when needed, individual in time learning needs, environmental sensitivities, etc.
Instructed by Miss Jaimie who holds a Level 3 Early Childhood Education and Development Diploma, Children with Special needs training and 7 years experience working as an IEP involved program facility director and special needs Aide.
30 minute recreational class covering both Tap and specialized areas of movement disciplines.
Dancers learn 1 dance combining Tap technique and creative movement patterns to perform at recital.
Performance is optional. Please Let the instructor know if you do not wish to perform.
Certified "Acrobatics Arts" Dance program
tumbling, hooping and acrobatic skills intended to be blended with traditional dance genres.
All classes run 45-90 min

Competition Team
Competition team dancers learn skills and dances, to perform on stage at 2-4 central Alberta dance Festivals beginning in March, continuing through April, and finishing with the Rec team at the year end Recital in May.
Full costume you keep is provided. Bill at season start and due by Nov. 1st.
Entry fees are billed at season start and due by Nov.1st.
These choreography classes run 30-90min depending on age and class size
Tiny Comp program (3-4.5 years)
Combined Ballet/Jazz/acro skills for primary dance movement
Mini Comp program (4.5-6 years)
classes in Ballet, Jazz , Acrobatics, Musical Theatre and Hip hop
Comp 1 program ( 6.5-8 yrs)
Hip hop, Tap, Jazz , Ballet, Acro, Musical Theatre
Comp 2 program (8-11 years)
classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz , Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Lyrical and Hip hop

Comp 3-5 program ( 12 years +)

Competitive Students can attend up to four competitions with the studio.
JD’s Academy attends local festivals, all within 150 km of Stettler.
** All dancers (Comp levels 2-4) participating on the competition Team are REQUIRED to take a minimum of one General Strength Enhancement class per week.
**Lyrical and contemporary students must be enrolled in a Ballet class or ballet syllabus.
Additional Competition costs include entry fees determined by the competition directors and possible travel costs such as food, gas and accommodation.
General Strength and Technique Enhancement
Launchpad Technique - comp 2 level dancers
Progressing Technique- comp 3 level dancers
Amplified Technique - comp 4 level dancers
This class is designed to build core and muscle strength, flexibility, endurance and fluidity.
Classes will run 30-90 minutes weekly.
This is open to all Rec team dancers also as an option to build skill and strength and is mandatory for comp team dancers levels 2-5.
Specialized Flexibility and Placement Training
Great for students wishing to enhance their skills used by figure skaters, gymnasts and martial arts.
Classes will run 30-90 minutes weekly
Adult classes
Dance is a great way to be fit and healthy.
Weather you were a dancer in your youth, always wanted to be or just love music and dance and want to have as much fun as everyone else!
We hold Dance fit classes with a variety of options.

For the more serious adult dancer classes and privates can include structured training and performance options.
Extras program
(solos, duets, etc.)
Extra projects can be competitive or non-competitive based on the desire of the dancer.
At registration, a dancer can request the desire to participate in the extras program. Miss Jaimie must then approve that request.
Approval is based on students’ history of commitment, attendance and general class attitude.
All students must be enrolled in a group class.
Extras are scheduled on a varied schedule throughout the season matched appropriately to the dancer(s) ability, age and experience.
This private instruction will accumulate to a pre set amount of hours during the dance season.

Try it out pass gives you the chance to try once any class available for your age group offered!
If you are enrolled as a student you get this pass free!
That means you have registered for a class but not sure which one you will take or you are thinking of taking a second or third class but would like to try it first.
If you are a potential new student and would like to have a trial run before committing to the season, you can purchase our "Try it out pass" .
